WHO IS SASHA?
Sasha Forests is an actress, musician, and writer; a bonafide Renaissance Woman.
She was born in a bus stop town outside of Fayetteville, NC then grew up in Atlanta, GA. Her professional acting career began as a teenager performing classical and contemporary theater. Those experiences led Sasha to pursue and attain her BFA in Acting from CalArts. Sasha learned from masterful teachers including Shakespeare with Mary-Lou Rosato, Voice with legend Fran Bennett, and writing for performance with the inimitable Ron Cephas Jones, to name a few.
Sasha nurtured relationships across disciplines, minoring in writing and music and forming herself into the multi-hyphenate artist she is today. She has global experience creating in cities across at least 3 continents in English, French, and Hindi - acting, singing, and dancing with directors and artists worldwide - even performing on network TV in Atlanta, her hometown.
Sasha’s artistry continues to boldly grow as a leading transsexual voice in auteur cinema, experimental-pop music, American theater, and the written word as a screenwriter, fiction author, and memoirist. Sasha’s acting is natural, embodied, intense, and relied upon for elevating what’s on the page into something believable and real. Acting, Music, and Writing keep her healthy so you can find her doing all three in LA. When not on set, in studio, or fighting for her life in the USA in 2026, she can be found cuddling her big dog, Shumboo.
